Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Whitney is a second year Master in Urban Planning student at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Prior to pursuing a Master in Urban Planning and joining Grayscale, Whitney attended Stanford University where she graduated with a BA in Urban Studies with honors and distinction. Her academic interests surround the intersections of race, place, and power. During her time at Stanford, Whitney also worked as a research assistant at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Through her academic and research experiences, Whitney explores various ways that communities navigate challenges created and sustained by policy and planning decisions. As a planner, Whitney is committed to centering local perspectives and knowledge to better serve communities that have often been left out of planning conversations.
