She/Her
Saagarika is a Master of Architecture in Urban Design candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. With a foundation in architecture from the American University of Sharjah and professional experience across the Middle East, Spain, and India, she brings a global and interdisciplinary perspective to her work. Prior to Harvard GSD, Saagarika practiced as an architect in Dubai, contributing to diverse urban, residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
She further developed her expertise through a Civic Design Professional Development Course at UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture, where she explored participatory methods for community engagement and co-production in urban regeneration. She worked closely with residents and stakeholders to analyze estate regeneration processes in London, emphasizing strategies for fair, transparent, and inclusive community engagement in urban decision-making.
Saagarika’s interests center on how cultural narratives, everyday practices, and social dynamics shape urban environments and foster belonging, identity, and community within rapidly changing cities. Passionate about context-driven and sustainable design, she enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create spaces that are resilient, equitable, and meaningful—drawing on inclusive, narrative-rich processes to reflect shared experiences and inspire lasting social impact.
